55.878) y Luis Alvarez (RX7, 55.978).
“Tenemos trazada una
estrategia”, reveló Díaz. “No nos vamos a arriesgar mucho. Vamos a

Pictures of the 5th race on Sunday, October 3, 1999:

Here is the start of the race. My car is the second one from right to left. The
first one is Axel Rivera, a GTS car and I am right behind him in GTU.

Here we see my father and Carlos Martinez getting ready to fix a fuel pump
problem.

Here we see again My father, Carlos and Millo Martinez. They were able to fix
the problem in about 2 minutes 30 seconds. That was super fast given that the
fuel pump just did not want to budge. In the front of the car you can see the
paint and scratch of a small encounter with another car in my league. It was caused
by Jose Santiago in car number 7. Although I passed him giving enough room for
both of us, I guess he felt he had to block me on the next turn and force my car
to the grass. Anyways, that's just racing, things happen. The Great news is that
we are OFFICIALLY the 1999 CHAMPIONS, even though their is one more race to
go........

Me and My father would like to thank all the people who made this possible.
Starting with the Martinez family because they prepared the car with the care and passion that
it needed. I also want to
thank Eduardo Baerga, our awesome time keeper, who always let me know of my weak
points. Thanks to My family who allowed me the chance to race. Thank You
to all the fans and people who attend the races, they are the ones that make
this all happen. Next race, stop by and say hello, although its a busy and
exciting day I love to chat. I also give out special thanks to HAVOLINE,
our sponsor.
I extend my thanks to My friends, to all of them, in particular to the guys and girls of "La Calle", what we call our special little corner of Puerto Rico where we usually meet. To all my friends here in Boston, I hope this winter is not as bad as the past :)
